Q How come this app is free?

A I wrote it for my own use as a rail commuter. If the app is useful to you, you are welcome to use it

Q Will you charge me in future to use the app?

A No, there is no plan to charge you

Q Will you sell my data to anyone?

A No, the Hastings Line app does not track you, ask you to sign up or collect any of your personal data. See our privacy policy

Q Aren't there already timetable apps?

A Some rail timetable apps seem to take several clickstaps to find departure times, their primary purpose may be to sell tickets or serve up adverts and they don't always respect my preference to use my iPhone in dark mode

Q How do I figure out how to use the app?

Q Does this app work on iPad?

A Yes, the Hastings Line app supports multitasking options on iPad

Q Does this app work on Mac?

A Yes, it works on Macs with Apple Silicon processors. It cannot be installed or used on older Macs with Intel or PowerPC processors

Q Will there be an Android version of this app?

A Probably not

Q Will this app provide maps of other rail lines?

A Possibly - please contact us if you are interested in coverage of another route

Q Will there be a journey planner feature for destinations beyond Hastings and Brighton rail lines?

A A transport planner is built into iOS and can be accessed from this app

Q Can I see departure boards for a station anywhere in the UK?

A Yes, you can expand the station picker list to show all stations in Great Britain, by clicking and holding down your mousedoing a long press on the picker list
